Hallowell is a sweet little town with antique stores and bookshops I poked around one Sunday with a friend. We people-watched from a window booth while having lunch and a beer at the Liberal Cup. (I hear great things about Slates restaurant and bakery, too, though I've not been there myself.) Wandering around, we walked down behind the shops on the river side and discovered an amazing and beautiful wall of, um... junk on the back of one of the buildings. It had hubcaps and old glass insulators (you know, from utility poles) and all kinds of metal and colorful things. It was a three-story work of art!
