The Bold Coast trail in Cutler has three great little campsites right on the ocean -- just a couple hours' walk in the woods. The middle site overlooks that characteristic rocky Maine shoreline. It can be windier than the other two, but the breakfast view is killer. Go in spring or fall when there are fewer people; whoever gets there first gets the site! Cobscook Bay State Park is a beautiful, remote park. The campsites are spread apart enough to give you some privacy. It's worth the trip just to see the stars at night. There's not much around to generate light pollution.
